INFORTREND ESVA (ENTERPRISE SCALABLE VIRTUALISED ARCHITECTURE) FAMILY ACHIEVES THE BEST SPC-1 BENCHMARK RESULTS FOR MIDRANGE STORAGE SYSTEMS

Basingstoke, UK, 2nd March 2010 – Infortrend®, the networked storage expert, (Public TPE: 2495) today announced that based on the SPC-1™ Result submitted to the Storage Performance Council (SPC), its ESVA (Enterprise Scalable Virtualised Architecture) family had proved to be the midrange storage array providing the highest performance at the lowest total cost.

In SPC-1 benchmark testing, twelve ESVA F60 systems were consolidated into a storage pool through virtualisation technology, working together to deliver an impressive throughput result of 180,488.53 SPC-1 IOPS™[1] with an average response time of 8.38 milliseconds when the system is at the 100% workload level and an average response time of 1.79 milliseconds when the system was lightly loaded at the 10% workload. The SPC-1 Result also showed that at different workload levels ranging from 10% to 100%, ESVA provided similarly prompt responses to IO operations. The performance can support online transactional processing and satisfy key business applications such as SQL, Exchange and Oracle. ESVA also achieved best-in-class SPC-1 Price-Performance ratio of $5.12/ SPC-1 IOPS[1]. At affordable price level, ESVA brings the throughput power which typically can only be found in high-end storage systems to the midrange storage market.
